Gambia_1 details of the work of Shine Africa in The Gambia

We are pleased to be associated with Shine Africa - a group of dedicated and compassionate people who, amongst many other things, build schools and train teachers in The Gambia.

All of the money raised by Shine goes directly to helping the children in The Gambia. A donation of as little as £3.50 will provide a mosquito net - a lifesaver considering that about two million people die in Africa every year from malaria. £22 is enough to sponsor one child for a whole year paying for their school fees, two school uniforms, (often the only new piece of clothing they have ever received) and a mosquito net. If you are visiting The Gambia, we can even arrange for you to visit your sponsored child at his or her school - a visit that will remain with you for the rest of your life, since despite their hardships, Gambian people are amongst the most friendly and lovely people you will ever meet.
